Dr. Barnes is married and has three children. She enjoys hiking, swimming, playing the piano and spending time with her family.

Dr. Barnes often leads Tumor Boards, serves on the board of Continuing Medical Education for the San Bernardino Community Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the California University of Science Medicine at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Areas of expertise include Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Proton beam radiation, Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), 3D Conformal Technique, Electron Therapy, High Dose Brachytherapy (HDR), Low Dose Brachytherapy and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT). Dr. Barnes has led several investigations about using proton therapy for benign brain tumors and rare cancers of the eye. Her work has been presented at national meetings.
